This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Volker Klemm who was born in Germany on May 4, 1968 and passed away on January 18, 2007 at the age of 38. He was the beloved husband of Dunja Klemm, the father of Tobias, age 10, and the stepfather of Anika, Carina and Bianca Koerfer (aged 17, 18 and 21 respectively). Volker was the owner of the Old Heidelberg German Restaurant in Bethel, CT, which was his dream come true. He passionately managed the restaurant from when he opened it in May 2004 until the end. Volker died suddenly from a massive brain hemorrhage that he could not recover from, and also leukemia that nobody knew he had. He is survived by his sister, Beate Engel, and his parents Albert and Agnes Klemm of Heddesheim, Germany. Volker's death at 8:42 AM was a complete shock to everyone who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Er war der geliebte Ehemann von Dunja Klemm, der Vater von Tobias, 10, und der Stiefvater von Anika, Carina und Bianca Koerfer (gealtert 17, 18 und 21). Volker war der besitzer des Old Heidelberg German Restaurants, mit dem er sich seinen Traum erfuellt hat. Er leitete leidenschaftlich das Restaurant von wann er es im Mai 2004 öffnete bis jetzt. Volker starb plötzlich an einer massiven Gehirn-Blutung, von der er nicht sich erholen konnte. Er wird von seiner Schwester, Beate Engel, und von seinen Eltern, Albert und Agnes Klemm aus Heddesheim, Deutschland, überlebt. Volkers Tod an 8:42 morgens war ein kompletter Schock fuer jeden der ihn kannte und liebte. Er wird sehr vermisst werden.

| His legacy |

And his spirit lives on...
Volker's legacy is found in his young son, Tobias, age 7 (soon to be 8!). Although we have sadly lost him, part of Volker's spirit will always be in Tobias, and we at least have this to comfort us. A piece of him is still with us, and will live on.
Volker is also with us through the Old Heidelberg restaurant he opened several years ago. The restaurant was his pride and joy and continues to be what he made it, even now that his wife, Dunja, has taken over the responsibilities as owner. |
